ANCASH

SOUTH HUASCARAN 6768 MASL (8d/7n)
It is the highest mountain in Peru (22,204 ft) it was first climbed in July 1932 by H. Bernard, P. Borchers, E. Hein, H. Hoerlin, E. Schneider.

Huascaran is located in the Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range), western area of the Cordillera de los Andes; it belongs to Ancash, a department in the north of Peru. The Cordillera Blanca is considered as the highest tropical mountain range in the world, with a constant temperature and quiet weather.

Southeast Normal Route

• Minimum requirements: Any Mountaineering basic course or to climb another mountain in the Andes, we recommend the Pisco.
• Season: May - September
• Grade: AD.
• Start city: Huaraz.
• Pack weight: 22 lbs.
