AREQUIPA

AMPATO 6318 MASL (3d/2n)
It is a volcano of easy accessibility and easy technical level, the origin of the name it is Quechua which means “toad” this volcano was a very important divinity in prehispanic times, it is also in this volcano where was found the Mummy Juanita, a 14 years old girl that was sacrificed 500 years ago, it is the best conserved Inca mummy. Summit: 6318 masl (20,728 ft)

• Minimum requirements: To have some acclimatization days in Arequipa or to climb another mountain like the Misti volcano.
• Season: March - November
• Grade: PD
• Start city: Arequipa.
• Pack weight: 11 lbs.
