NAZCA LINES AND BALLESTAS ISLANDS 2D/1N
The city of Nazca is famous because in this territory the Nazca culture was
developed, it was a preinca culture that sized by its colorful ceramics of
symbolic and streamlined figures, considered the best pictorial ceramics of pre-Columbian
America. Also the underground aqueducts denominated Nazca Lines, immense figures
of birds, flowers, insects, among others, which are only appreciable from the
air; these figures constitute, according to some investigators, an important
agricultural calendar that isn’t possible to decipher yet.
The Ballestas Islands belong to the National Reserve of
Paracas, a natural area that protects to a great amount of marine species, some
in danger of extinction like the marine penguin of Humbold.
This great adventure begins in Lima, we leave very early by a
bus until to arrive to the port “el Chaco” where we will approach a motor boat
that will drive us towards this great marine refuge, we will be able to observe
the famous Candelabrum of Paracas, an enormous bas-relief figure that could
serve like reference to the navigators, we will fascinate ourselves with the
great variety of boisterous birds, and the timid penguins.
Around midday we return to the port where we will be able to
enjoy a typical dish of marinated raw fish or the typical cebiche, after the
lunch our transport drives us towards Nazca where we spend the night in a hotel.
On the following day, we go to the aerodrome to overfly the enigmatic lines that
are sample of astonishment for everybody, and then we will be able to visit the
site museum Maria Reiche before returning to the city of Lima, or continuing our
trip to Arequipa or Cusco.
